DSTV HD TV and Dolby Digital Movies
Multichoice recently started broadcasting selected movies, series and shows in HD (High Definition) and with Dolby Digital Sound on the MM1 DSTV channel. Dolby Digital is only available on the HD PVR, DSD990, DSD1110, Dual View and PVR decoders, on the MM1 channel.
The introduction of the new DStv HD PVR (High Definition Personal Video Recorder) decoder has further revolutionised television experience with a HDMi (High Defintion Multimedia interface) connection for LCD's and Plasmas for a sharper image, more vibrant colours and precision picture quality.
Now you can enjoy colours so rich you can feel their intensity, and a picture so sharp you can see every face in the crowd. Youll be amaised!
The HD PVR (PACE TDS 850) allows you to view one channel, while recording two other channels simultaneously.With the HD PVR you can:
- Record 150 hours of standard definition TV or 50 hours of HD TV.
- 24 hour i-Plate
- Surround Sound capability
- Pause live TV programming
- Rewind programming
- Fast forward and slo-mo programming you have recorded
DStv Multiview Functionality
MultiChoice subscribers can link a DSTV HD PVR to their current Dual View PVR to enjoy 3 viewing environments, or link the HD PVR to DSD1110 decoder to enjoy 2 viewing environments, as part of the XtraView offering. The only additional cost to the monthly subscription fee is R55, which is the amount currently payable on the Dual View service. In order to connect the two decoders, you will need a twin LNB and a connection running between the two decoders.
